Clarens Mountain Bike (MTB) Challenge

Held annually and normally hosted by MTN, the 70km, 50km and 20km races are part of the South African National Marathon Series. The Race starts on the Clarens Town Square.

Qualifier for the Comrades Marathon - 42.2km

The Marathon takes place between Clarens and Fouriesburg, winding it's way through breathtaking scenery... Surrender Hill is a historical site where more than 4000 Boers, under General Marthinus Prinsloo, surrendered to the British during the Anglo-Boer War.
Clocolan Vintage Tractor Fair
1st weekend of March 2012

Held at the Bethlehem Air Strip, there is usually an impressive days line-up, including acrobatics, interesting aeroplanes and stalls from local producers.
There is an entrance fee, and there is plenty of parking.

Here you'll find cherry products all year round. The first Cherry trees were grown in South Africa in 1905...
The Cherry Festival is the oldest harvest festival in South Africa.

These petrolheads take over the town of Clarens and cause quite a stir with their thumping two wheeled machines. But don't be scared, they are really nice guys and girls (Steel Wings) and generate funds for the local charity for aids orphans.
